It always irritates me when Christians on television are portrayed as crazy. I don’t act like those people. My friends don’t act like them, either. Yet, the media is determined to portray all Christians as extremists.
I wish these extremists didn’t exist. I wish they wouldn’t attach the name Christian to themselves or call themselves a church.
Like the Westboro Baptist Church. They are the crazies who protest at funerals of fallen soldiers. They make me sick.
But this post is not about them. It’s about the students at Texas A&M University.
In silent protest of the Westboro members’ plan to protest at the funeral of a Texas A&M alum soldier, over 600 people formed a wall around College Station’s Central Baptist Church. Clad in maroon, they formed a human wall. It worked, since no member of the Westboro “church” was seen at the funeral.
It’s amazing what people can do when they stick together. It’s amazing what the Church can do when we stick together.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Go Aggies.
