Hello my friends! Did you have a fantastic wonderful relaxing day or was it full of shopping, work, cooking, laundry…
Were you able to take a nap? I hope so.
We had a lovely Christmas, and today was pretty relaxing. I fell asleep during an episode of Criminal Minds, and after the last four nights of going to bed at 3 AM and getting up early, it felt great.
I cooked and cycled the laundry while Justin built a super large toy box for the boys and a bench for our kitchen table. Then he went to Target for me.
I love him.
Here are some of my favorite moments from yesterday:
Justin hamming it up.
Bullets and beef jerky made a great stocking stuffer. Shout-out of thanks to Jase and Missy Robertson for the idea! Is it okay if I pretend they are my friends? I think this will become an annual stocking tradition.
My first college football experience was the 1996 Florida State versus Notre Dame bowl game. It was at this game that I became a Seminole for life. This is the poster my dad got me at the game. It hung on my wall the rest of the time I lived at home. My brother told me couple of years ago that seeing this poster in my room is what spurred him towards Seminole-fanhood.
So I framed it and passed it on. “Where it all began.”
The boys had a great time opening their gifts. We get them presents throughout the year, so we don’t buy them a lot at Christmas. This is my littlest one opening his “big” gift. He kept saying, “It’s all mine. It’s all mine.”
As the youngest of three, he has to share a lot, so it was cute how excited he was to have a toy to himself.
One of my favorite gifts is the handprint calendar my middle son gave me. Each month has a unique picture made out of his handprints–Santa, turkey, 4-leaf clover, apple, etc. I love it so much.
My big present from Justin was a real winner.
First, the card, with the cryptic note inside. I did not understand what my present was, but I knew it had something to do with cooking.
I had to grab my phone to look up the URL Justin printed in my card.
And then . . .
What?!?!?!?!!!!!???!!!!
A three-hour one-on-one cooking lesson from a professional personal chef.
I don’t have to leave my house.
I get to learn how to cook a three-course meal from a professional chef.
I can learn how to do some of the things I’ve been dying to learn.
For me, best present ever. GREAT job, babe.
From the bottom of my heart, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. For many of you, presents are just a small part of the celebration of the day. I hope you made many traditions, ate great food, spent time with family, and thanked God for sending Jesus to this forsaken world to give us a second chance.
One of our traditions is having Christmas brunch. I can’t wait to show you the most amazing dish I made.
