I met Steele at the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference this past week. He sat at our table for dinner, and shared his pretty awesome poetry with us.
Seriously, he is so sweet, I had to share him with you.
Division
Two minus one
You must’ve lost interest
Subtracted yourself
I am the difference
Two add on one
Together makes three
I’ll walk away
That is not for me
Passionate love
Powerfully potent
You chose to divide it
Now we’re just a quotient
Division is hard
In life and fifth grade
I know it has uses
But they’re unclear today
iAddict
Tapping thumbs
On Plexiglas
Back-lit screens
Moving fast
Heads bent down
Eyes glued to screens
Stimulated
By “funny” scenes
Always with us
Never gone
We have to have them
Or we feel all wrong
Needles, bottles
Pills, patron
Pipes and papers
And iPhones
My name is Steele Stephens. I am a writer, filmmaker, actor, musician, pilot, rocket scientist, student, and I’m lying about at least one of those. I’m twenty years old and I currently attend Texas A&M University where I am majoring in Telecommunication Media Studies.
I am also working towards my pilot ratings to potentially fly for an airline someday. That is, of course, if I can’t manage to become a famous writer/filmmaker/actor/musician first. I’d love to have you follow me on all my different social media sites if you so desire. Oh, you do? Great.
