It was a pleasure to sign books at the Central Christian College’s Women’s Day. It was the first time that my sister, mom, and I were able to attend an event together as authors and we had an amazing time decorating our table with fresh Walmart flowers and chalkboard stands.
After the signing, we had a delicious meal where the mashed potatoes and gravy melted in your mouth and the apple crisp with whipped topping was pure heaven. Author Cindy Sigler Dagnan spoke God’s truth with authenticity and humor, and I will tell you, I fell in love with her the moment she said, “I was gonna put on my author face but I’m too tired. I just gotta be real.”
Amen.
She’s hilarious, btw, and it was a joy and pleasure to hang out with her and her daughter, who has the most incredible eyelash extensions I’ve ever seen. I almost put on my magnetic ones but my sister said it was too much, and with my hair having an incredibly high “loft” from where I over-directed it, I thought maybe she was right.
In between the stream of ladies entering the bookstore where we were sitting, my sister and I raided the clearance bins. $7 shirts and hoodies? Yes, please. We’ll take them all. That’s how you get invited back, FYI. Buy #AllTheStuffs, post it on Instagram, and tag the venue so they know you’re a team player.
I’ve been invited to return next year as the guest speaker and while I am ecstatic, I have super cute shoes to fill.
