Bethany Jett is a literary agent as well as a multi-award-winning author and a marketing strategist who earned top honors in her master’s program, where she earned her MFA in Communications focusing on Marketing and PR.
In 2022, she began her agenting journey where she negotiated several deals, including two with the Big Five (and she can’t wait until they’re all officially announced!).
After almost three years of agenting, she transitioned to the MacGregor & Luedeke Collaborative where she’s opening her list to adult fiction as well as nonfiction and select kidlit.
Bethany is a military spouse (and military mama) and was proud to be named the 2025 Military Spouse of the Year for the Florida National Guard. She and her college sweetheart husband have three sons and a not-spoiled-at-all Pomeranian.
For more information on what she’s looking for, check out her submissions guidelines page.
An author with a paper allergy...
I wear gloves a lot because I have a contact allergy to colophony, an ingredient commonly used in ink, paper, adhesives, photos, sawdust, anything waterproof, and non-BPA plastics.
Basically, I’m allergic to my own books!
There is no known cure, so I’m forced to either wear gloves or deal with the unhappy consequences. While it’s annoying, the gloves make a great conversation starter!
In early 2025, I lost my father to stage 4 colon cancer. We received his diagnosis in the last few weeks of his life. Colon cancer is preventable. Please, get checked.
My Story
My life changed in 2012 when I attended my first writers conference. I walked away with the title of Writer of the Year, two literary agent offers, plus several interested publishers. I signed with an agent that week and my debut book sold three months later.
Life has never been the same.
Since then, I’ve worked within the publishing industry as an author, ghostwriter, proposal creator, editor, and marketing strategist. My books are traditionally published within the inspirational Christian market, as well as in the ABA general market under a pen name.
My passion for marketing came after reading Sally Hogshead’s How the World Sees You. I went back to school and graduated with my masters degree in communications where I got to focus on both marketing and PR.
Over the years, I’ve been honored with multiple writing awards and have had the opportunity to speak at conferences and be interviewed for television and podcasts. Highlights and links can be found on my media page here.
A Peek Into the Past:
I’m the former Vice President of Platinum Literary Services where I specialized in marketing, nonfiction proposal creation, ghostwriting, and developmental editing. Additionally, we crafted marketing strategies for authors with a traditional publishing house.
Additionally, after several years of encouraging and championing writers as the co-founder of Serious Writer, Inc., I retired so I could dedicate more time to my family and to focus on agenting,
